City of La Mirada, California, Annual City Emergency Preparedness Drill, Nov. 9, 2007
On Nov. 9, 2007, the City of La Mirada, California, had its annual emergency preparedness drill.  While the primary communications network was the Los Angeles County Fire Departments' network, amateur radio was the back-up network.  La Mirada has its own Hamwatch program which supports the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department La Mirada station.    In a disaster La Mirada Hamwatch connects the the Sheriff's Disaster Communication Service (DCS).  Dr. Cliff cheng, WW6CC, Neighborhood Emerngecy Radio Project, was invited by La Mirada's Emergency Planner, Anthony Santos to participate.  He was assigned to La Mirada's Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Search and Rescue (SAR) Team 2.
